The 42-acre Polynesian Cultural Center is a "working theme park" operated by the Mormon Church for the purpose of preserving and presenting the life and culture of seven Polynesian nations: Samoa, Old Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Tonga, New Zealand, and the Marquesas. Each Polynesian Island is represented by its own village compound, through which you can walk, learn, and observe demonstrations of an ancient way of life.
See "islanders" reenact war dances and wedding ceremonies, create fire, carve tiki figures, wield fire knives, and climb four-story trees in bare feet.
The Center hosts Hawaii's only long canoe pageant and the spectacular "Horizons" Night Show with a cast of 100 native performers from all corners of the Pacific.
