During its heyday, 33 industrial railroads existed in Hawaii. They hauled mostly sugar cane to the mills, and plantation workers between the fields and their homes.
Today, little is left of these original railroads. The Sugar Cane Train is an authentic reproduction that once ran through the fields of West Maui.
Visitors travel 6 miles between the resort area of Kaanapali and historic Lahaina town in an open-air coach whose nostalgic 19th century engine recalls the days of old Hawaii.
