"Sites Bay" Re-named after David Thomas Fleming (1881 - 1955)
Fleming's beach is located in the northern portion of West Maui, in Napili. This is a good, relaxing, family beach. The swimming is excellent but be wary of strong currents the further out you go.
There is great snorkeling and diving on the south end of the beach near the rocks (usually during the summer). The water can be dangerous at times, snorkel and scuba dive with caution. The kayaking can be excellent in the summer also. During the winter there is a desent wave break here for surfing or body boarding. Depending upon the size of the waves, there are a lot of injuries on this beach due to the powerful break and rocky shore. Be very cautious at this beach.
During the winter (and sometimes during the summer) there can be a real 'killer' break at this location. There is no protection (such as in a bay) from the north swells. The waves can hit very hard with serious medical assistance at least 8 miles away.
Pay attention to the lifeguard, cautions, and any "RED FLAGS" being out. During times of moderate to heavy wave action there is a 'rip' current set up on parts of the beach. Be aware of these areas and avoid them if you are not a strong swimmer.

There is plenty of parking with public restrooms and showers available. Lifeguards are on duty during the day. Because of the location of the Ritz Carlton, there is a small restaurant near the shore on the resort end of the beach.
