The train museum commemorates the history of the Hilo Railroad founded in 1899 until 1946 when a tidal wave demolished the tracks. The museum is situated in an old former employee's house, depicting life in the 1930's.
The museum features old railroad memorabila, photographs, and a gift shop featured lcally hand crafted items. the museum grounds are also available for picnicking, relaxing or walking.
