Laupahoehoe Train Museum

 
The train museum commemorates the history of the Hilo Railroad founded in 1899 until 1946 when a tidal wave demolished the tracks. The museum is situated in an old former employee's house, depicting life in the 1930's.

The museum features old railroad memorabila, photographs, and a gift shop featured lcally hand crafted items. the museum grounds are also available for picnicking, relaxing or walking.

Admission: Adult $2, Senior and Student $1, Youth 6–18 years $1,
Children 5 and under free.
Reservations suggested for large groups.
Location: 36-2377 Mamalahoa Highway, Laupahoehoe
 

Highway 19 near mile marker 25.
Look for the railroad crossing signs on our front lawn.
Approximately 30 minutes from Hilo, and 25 minutes from Honoka'a.
