The Tropical Botanical Gardens are known as "The garden in a valley on the ocean". The 40 acre valley contains over 2000 species and attracts visitors from all over the world. The valley acts as a natural greenhouse, and has coconut and mango trees over 100 years old. There are nature trails winding through tropical vegetation, offering views of streams, waterfalls and the ocean.

Situated along the four-mile Scenic Route at Onomea Bay

Located off of Highway 19 on the lush Hamakua Coast, 8 1/2 miles north of Hilo.
